Hey all,
Just found this site.

Just got a cisco 1900 (1912 10BaseT), and I got a conolse cable labeled as : 72-1592-01 Cisco Systems

The switch switches fine, but I want to console (studying for CCNA).

I plug console into console port, and com port 1.
In HyperTerm I set com 1 as 9600, 8, none, 1 stop, no flow control.
I get nothing when trying to connect... What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.

OK, from other posts in here, it seems like I have the wrong cable.
Where do I get the correct cable?
Or what is the correct cable.

It is db9 to rj45, but what do I need?

You have to use a null modem cable. You can pick one up at any computer shop or from an auction site. I got one with 9 & 25 pin connectors on both ends for about $10.
