We have been up for 10 hours trying to get these cash drawers to fire. We have 3 cash drawers and they all came from a working site. The way we have it set up is to fire from the printers (dk). The printers are TM-88III . There all in working condition and print upon order. When you close a check and it says change due, no drawer fires. When you manually try to open it, it doesnt fire. In Aloha i have the cash drawers set to, Printer interface, and the terminal that the printer and cash drawer is plugged into.

The printer is going from com 1 (rj-45) to the back of the printer (rj-45). As i said, when you print an order it prints fine.

I cannot think of why it wouldnt work. The terminals have windows 98 on them. Under the printer settings on the OS it self Do we need to add the printers??. Are there drivers we need to install??

My last guess would be the cable. We found out what the cable should be for the cash drawer and tried to make it but it still doest work. Can any one specify or show me a picture of the cable used to connect cash drawer to the printer.

Thanks for the help..

If the cash drawer is in fact a printer interface drawer the drawer must plug into the printer, not the terminal.

The wiring for an Epson cash drawer cable will vary based on the brand and model of cash drawer. If using MMF printer driven Cd the wiring is as follows.

Drawer End 1 2 3 4 x 6

Rrinter End 1 2 3 4 5 6

Straight thru on all but 5...

Cheers
