Does anyone know how i would be able to use a microwave as a medium to push dial tone to a carrier remote off of a 81C?

What parts do i need? Mini carrier remote won't cut it as I require about 512 sets on the remote end.

Or should i look at a sig server and use i2050 softphones on the laptops?

Any suggestions?

Depends on the type of Microwave and channels available. Cellular systems use microwave links on a regular basis, slightly different end user, but the principal is the same. Typical Microwave system is set up for multiple T-1 circuits just as sending it through the telco on one of their T-1 circuits. for 512 sets you will need quite a few T-1's though .....
With microwave, you need to be sure you have taken into consideration down time from fading of the signal etc and really bad storms and or snow. Quite often these things will play a part in your up time.

I think this is an open-ended question; there are lots of options, but you have to look at lots of things:

- is this a new site with all new equipment or old?

- what are plans for data between sites?

- IP or TDM?

- What are your plans for outside trunks for 512 phones? What are your DR plans if that Microwave TIE goes down?

I think this gets to be a lot larger question with lots of possibilities real quick.
