Hey All- Any comments would be greatly appreciated. We have recently installed 3 Carrier Remote Cabinets (not mini) to be used to "extend" our PBX to a remote location and will use ACD/CCMS functionality. Each Carrier Remote has 3 T1s with 50 phones programmed in each. All phones programmed are 3905 ACD phones. 2 of the 3 Remotes work perfectly. We are having an issue on just 1.

Here is the issue: All 50 3905 phones programmed on this "problematic" loop/carrier is in the same situation. You can see the keys programmed on the phone, but when you press the keys nothing happens. You can place a test call from the main location to the remote site and see the call ring-in on the 3905 phoneset key, but you cannot answer. When you press the DN key you do not get dial-tone, etc... So basically the keys do not respond when pressed on all the 3905 phones. On this same problematic Carrier we programmed a 3904 ACD phone and everything works fine. So this problem seems to be related to only 3905 phonesets.

I heard of a similar issue with a mini-carrier where I believe an eprom or some firware needed to updated on 1 of the remote cards or maybe even on a local card in order to get 3905s to respond. This isn't a mini-carrier, but similar circumstances.

Any ideas would be awesome. Thanks!

Hey Buddy- Yes and Yes. We actually have around 500 or so at main site and have been for years. Oh yeah- PBX is on Rls 5.5.

Thanks!

Check/verify the order of your t1 lines. They obviously need to match end to end.

The last 3 channels on each t1 are timing and signaling.
So if any of the t's are up, you dial pad and keys will work. But if the order is scrambled you won't get the audio.
Try going off hook on a set, then listening on ch1 of each t1. Most likely you are going to here the dial tone on carrier 1 or 2, not 0 where it should be.

I sometimes wish I could delete/edit my posts. I just re-read the part about 3904's working. sorry about the above.
Assuming you have a headset or a handset plugged in the to headset port, otherwise the phone won't work. Are the carrier remote cards on all 3 remotes the same vintages? Can you swap the cards around off hours between remotes to see if the problem moves with a card?
Also, perhaps make sure the software versions are the same as the working remotes? example:
