Hi,

I have text in a memo field that contains carriage return characters. The problem i have is that when i set up a field on a sub form to display the memo, the carriage returns appear as vertical black lines and do not move the text onto a new line, this results in one big block of text that is not easy to read.

Is there any way i can set the properties of the text box to recognise these carriage returns and format the text accordingly?

Thanks

If you change the properties of your memo field to,
Enter Key Behavior = new line in Field
and your Scroll Bars to Verticale it must work.

Try It

Thanks for responding Jurgen,

What you suggest is exactly how i have the textbox set already, but it still displays the blacklines, without moving onto another line.

The table that the memo field is in is linked in using an ODBC database driver, i am not sure if this makes a difference or not though.

Any other ideas?

Thanks MartinF

Jurgen,

I believe it is oracle

Thanks

What database version and wath odbc driver version do you have ?

Jurgen,

I have now resolved the problem. The text in my table contained carriage return characters not used by Access, to to get the data to display properly in the textbox, a piece of code is required to change all the carriage returns in the text to the ones that Access uses, Chr$(13), once changed, the text appears as a proper memo with all the lines seperated as they should be.

Thanks again for taking time to reply to me on this.
