this file, located under arcserve/nlm directory logs a lot during backups (remote procedure calls??).
the size of this file on our server (running Arcserve for about 3 months) is 13 MB. On another Arcserve server of another company the size is over 100 MB.

Is there a way to prevent the file from growing or maybe the file can just be deleted...? (and what does the file actually DO?)

TIA, Je@n **<communicate>**

Look for workstations running the Arcserve Discovery Service or the Arcserve Message Engine service. We normally turn these off but when one machine had them set to Automatic the log file would grow all the time the machine was on.
