Hi folks..
Quick one here for you. In a desktop version of my application, I make a connection to a data server, tell it which points I want to read - and this guy comes back with read events with the data. Works pretty good. I'd like to do this same thing with a asp.net 2.0 application, and I have it working, but I have to "stall" it at the server side until the event happens, then add my data to the page, and away it goes. It works, but I hate waiting around for this event to happen, and it's not really the waiting that bothers me, but the way that I used a while loop to just wait for it to happen. Can anyone provide me with some help on this? Is there a way I can start this in another thread or something. I can't hardly find any information on handing events from objects like these. I am thinking of writing a web service to do this, but I would like to know the proper way of doing it like this anyways. Thanks!
