I am a new user of XP and I'm trying to turn on the
cap lock key when I start up XP.
In W98 you could just put the command "CapsOn" in the
autoexec.bat file...how can you do this with XP?

As I dont remember the number for caps lock im thinking it might be 3 but dont remember. But these are the 2 locations that control it on windows 2000 and i believe there in the same location on xp.

hkey_current_user, control panel, now click keyboard to where its selected(highlighted). As I said i dont remember the number but I use 2 to have num lock on so im thinking 3 might be it for caps lock.

hkey_user, .default, control panel, and click on keyboard to select it like on previous one. change it to same number as the other one.

One controls it when booting, the other controls when you log into windows.

CapsLock allows you to turn on or off your CAPS lock key on your keyboard. There is no user interface to this program, just execute it and it will perform the task. You can add this utility to your Windows Startup to ensure the CAPS lock key is on. Use the command line options to either turn the key on or off. The program will only turn it off or on once - it does not disable the CapsLock completely."
