canvas widget coordinates

I have a text widget which I select words out of and place them in a table, which is a canvas widget. At this point when I click on a tagged word in the text widget the corresponding entry in the table (the canvas widget) highlights, but the canvas widget does not scroll to it. How can I get the y-coordinate of the location of the entry in the table, (without clicking on it) and make the canvas widget scroll to its location?

Take a look at the xview and yview functions for canvas in the maunaul page. This will do the trick.
