My boss has an IBM laptop (fairly new) that has been able to plug into our network (SBS2003 and XP Pro workstations) with his ethernet card and access the internet.
Yesterday he tried this and was unable to access web pages. I found I AM able to access a page using the IP address, just not the DNS.
I've tried
- netsh winsock reset catalog
- LSP Fix
- VB_WinFix 1.2
- netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
- netsh int ip reset c:\netsh.txt
- Microsoft System Restore to a time dns worked
may have tried other things but that's all I can remember
Ping also does not work using Any suggestions?
Thanks very much for any help!

Since the laptop is fairly new, I'm assuming he's running xp of sometype on the laptop. Did you check his log files and see what's changed?
