I'm trying to use the QuickTime video effect (specifically the fire effect) for one of my clips in the timeline. It seems when I apply certain QuickTime effects, it overrides the clip and all I get is the fire on the output. I'm sure there are certain settings for this effect. If anyone can help me with this, I would appreciate it.

try matting it out... under the transparancy option

after effects is a much better program for doing that kind of thing

No dice. I suppose I will have to get after effects...just thought I might be missing a step. Thanks!
