I'm running a version of Adobe Pagemill 3.0 in Mac Classic OS. whenever I try to upload it to the server I get a message that says "Upload was unsuccessful. MAC TCP Open failed." What's up wth that? Other Classic application seem to connect to the internet no problem.

PageMill's uploader never was very good, and of course it is now obsolete.
I urge you to install a more modern FTP application, which will give you far more control over uploading and on-line editing than PML ever did.
I'm not sufficiently clued up with Mac software to recommend File Transfer software, but a combination of Google and questions in the Apple Mac forum - forum604 - should point you in the right direction.
