Hi All,

I have a DS30 (DIG DCPx30) module that has been sitting around for a while, like at least couple years. I upgraded/downgraded the firmware originally. It didn't work on both IP406v1 and IP406v2(could not dial out) and so it sat. I now need it and can't get the firmware to update.
Firmware of DS30 is at 4.1(24), and needs to be at 5.2(65).
Whenever I tried to upgrade via Manger, I get, " * Rollback is available, All selected units failed to transfer, One or more systems failed to upgrade"

I found old threads in this forum about doing firmware upgrades via the DTE port, but not specific to my situation. Can someone give me better instrucions?

Thanks, GenPat

When you plug the DS30 into a control unti and reboot, does it come up (expansion light on the front of control unit)???

Does it show in the config in Manager???

Hi jamie77,
The light does come up. It boots fine. I can see it in Manger as Device 5, DIG DCPx30, version 4.1(24).
But because it doesn't have the same software as my system, I can't do anything with it at the moment.

Sounds like your bin file directory is pointed to the wrong folder. Is it set to the manager folder? File > Preferences, etc...

When you click File>Advanced>Upgrade in Manager, what do you get???

you say 4.1(24) that means you are actually running on version 2.1 which is quite old, you need to definitely do a stepped upgrade to 3.2.999 first then to 4.2 (or 6.2 for the expansion module)
The 3.2.999 folder is in the manager folder point your upgrade path to it then try that to this version first then change it to the manager folder again and do the final upgrade.
Good luck,

If you can't be good, be good at it!

Hey guys,

When viewing the Upgrade Manager, I see the normal software levels for everything except the unwilling DS30.
Here's the link to what I see (I can't figure out how to attach picture):

The bin directory is definitely correct (C:\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Manager). The bin files are all there. Also, I just upgraded the IP406v1 to 3.2(65) along with 2 other DS30s and a POT16 so I am sure that I am okay on the software side.

Thanks, GenPat

What you are seeing there looks right, the fact it didn't dial out in the first place would indicate it's knackered, it's unlikely that it has fixed itself since so it's more than likely just still knackered which is why it wont upgrade.

Everything looks just fine, press <Upgrade> and then the enter the password usually 'password' then it should upgrade from 2.1 to 3.2.

I give up. It seems there's no solution.

Thank you all anyway.

I am having other problems, but I'll see if I can figure it out by myself first. :)

If it's broken no amount of configuring will fix it, throw it away..:)
