Can't update norton antivirus

For some reason I can't get the updates off of Norton Liveupdate!!! I just recently updated from windows 98 SE to Windows XP Professional. The version of Norton I have is Norton Antivirus 2002.

The update was not completed. The update process was unable to complete successfully. And in the details it states this:
Windows XP 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1

Common Client Core 1.0.3

Could not find installation path for at least one component.

I went to the Norton Antivirus website and they said to ensure that the account that you are using is an Administrator account on the local computer and also without additional permissions. How can you change this??
When I go the user account section, it states that I'm the Computer Administator!!! I'm connected to a local network, is that the problem???

I've had similar problems before and the solution was to manually remove and reinstall NAV
