I have been trying to figure this out now for well over a week and I just can't get it to work. I have been trying to sync up sccm with wsus, so that I can get updates. Unfortunately it keeps telling me in the event viewer that wsus server is not configured. I have them both on the same server, I have no proxy, WSUS is using the defualt web site and the ports match that of the SUP. Does anyone have any suggestions to as why this is not working. If you could help this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

You have to configure SCCM to get it's updates from Microsoft rather than an upstream server, don't configure WSUS at all, it's just the delivery mechanism, all updates should be controlled thru SCCM.

The real world is not about exam scores, it's about ability.

I haven't even opened the wsus console. I have been doing it all through sccm, but for some reason when I go to sync the updates up in sccm it fails. I have the SUP setup to the right ports and everything and it just wont sync.

Have you had a look at the system status messages to see what it's saying about the WSUS sync?

Are you running this on 2003 or 2008?

Thank you for taking the time in helping me out. It finally kicked through when I got in this morning. Will see how it works from here on out. Thank you
