Hi,
I have a Windows XP Pro machine that had a virus and now is messing me around. I have been working through issues to fix it, and have got to the point where the MS DTC service won't start.
If I go into dcomcnfg and click on Component Services, and click on Configure My Computer I only get two tabs, MSDTC and COM Security.
The MSDTC version is 03.01.00.4414.
The event viewer is throwing up an Event ID: 4209.
The description says: A critical error occured in an MS DTC component therefore the process is terminating. The catagory field identifies the component that encountered the errror.
Error specifics d:\qxp_slp\com\com1x\dtc\dtc\msdtc\src\cservice.app:436, Cmdline C:\Windows\system32\msdtc.exe
No callstack
Have looked through MS technotes and Google, but not found anything to correct this.
Has anyone got any ideas? Any help would be most appreciated.
Best wishes
Michael
