Exchange 2000 was running fine (minor errors).
Installed ISA from the SBS CD#2
Had to uninstall IIS to do it.
Needed to reinstall NNTP for Ex2K.
Now I can't get the Routing Engine service to start. The clients can still do everything except send and receive emails from each other, although one of the clients has mail stuck in the outbox.
I get Event ID: 7023 with the message that it can't find the path specified.
Other EIDs are 958 , 8250 , 116

Any ideas on how to resolve this???

Thanks for your help.

Obvious question: due to the fact you reinstalled IIS, is SMTP running?

The SMTP service was listed as disabled.

I set it to automatic and started it.

When I try to start the Routing Engine service I get an Error 3 : The system cannot find the path specified.

Did you reinstall IIS? The Routing Engine comes from there.
You're missing the INETINFO executable from your system32 directory...

Will re-installing IIS create problems for the ISA Server that was just installed?

No, you've already re-installed part of it when you put NNTP back. You should really do the IIS installation over with NNTP and SMTP.

First try to re-install the SMTP part of IIS. If that doesn't work, then do an entire IIS reload.

Thanks,
I'll get a chance to bring down the network and do this Wed. AM.
I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks again.

Update:
I did an entire IIS un-install and re-install.
Re-ran Ex2K SP2
Restarted the server

Still can't get the Routing Engine service to start.

Error message is " error 3: the system cannot find the path specified"

I searched for inetinfo.exe and found it in C:\WINNT\System32\dllcache and in C:\WINNT\System32\inetsrv

Any idea what "path" this error refers to???

In the System Log the error is Event ID: 7023
Also an Event ID: 115

In the App Log there is an Event ID: 1194

Where should I go from here?

Thanks for your help.
