Hi,
I want to share files among my two computers at home. Computer 1 is a Win2k Pro with the ip of 192.168.1.101.
Computer 2 is a WinXP Pro with the ip of 192.168.1.100.
Both are connected with a router sharing dsl connection.
Both belong to a WORKGROUP called Mshome.
Both have a folder set on its hard drive to share with the other.
My problem is that Win2k can't 'see' WinXP.
I ran the network setup wizard at WinXP. WinXP can see and access files on the shared folder on Win2k.
But yet if I tried the following on the Win2k, all I got is 'network path not found'
- from the RUN prompt, type '\\192.168.1.100'
- map network drive '\\192.168.1.100\sharedname'
- go to Network Neighborhood -> Entire Network -> MS Network -> and click Mshome -> 'Mshome isn't accessible'
Both computers have an administrator account with the same user name and password. Also, I am logged into this administrator while doing this file sharing setup.
What am I missing here?
Thanks.
