Cant send to a .hk email

upgraded the network, replaced the NT servers with 2000 servers w/ sp4
since then, users cannot send any emails to a .hk address
error returned is

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server. Please contact your system administrator.

<bjinets.betseyjohnson.com #5.5.0 smtp;553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)

at a loss here
not sure why i cant email .hk

Either you or they may be on a blacklist. Check it from hotmail or so.

worked fine from yahoo
so where do i fix this blacklist thing? is it on my end? or their end?
keep in mind that the old mail server was named bjinet and the new one is bjinets

If you can send from yahoo or other and not your domain, it is woth contacting their admin to check if your domain does not appear on any blaclists they may use.

Or, there is a acceptance issue on their end.
Are you using your ISP as SmartHost or do you resolve everything on your server? You can see this if you get queues for every domain you send to.

If you use the ISP as smarthost, it could be they are blacklisted.
If you send direct, some server will not accept if unknown, hence the &quot;sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts&quot; error. If this is the case, you can ask them to add your domain.

looks like a queue gets created for every host we send to
i didnt see any smarthosts defined

If you use your ISP as SmartHost, there will only be one queue, now you have indeed a queue for every domain you send to.

you can check if you are on one of main blacklists by checking at

http://www.mail-abuse.org

They have a very good lookup tool for checking if your domain is on the blacklist.
