AAAAGGGHHH!!!
I'm so close to finishing this BCM install...
I have an ATA adapter on a DN (243) that has a fax machine connected to it. The DN is primed to Line Pool A for dialing out, and line 101 is set to ring directly to DN 243. If I dial into the store on line 101 I can send a fax IN to the fax machine fine, but when I try to send one out the fax machine connects to the remote machine and then disconnects before the page is sent. I tried sending it to our computer fax line, and the compute reports "Remote fax machine did not respond in a timely manner" as the error. Anyone have any idea what is wrong here? :(

U say that the DN is primed for LinePool A. Are u adding "9" at the begining of your dialing sequence?

It has been set up so I have to dial 9 and I have also set it up so it picks a line as soon as it goes off hook. It is getting a line ok, and dialing, and the remote fax machine is answering, but for some reason once the transmission starts the DN fax is hanging up or disconnecting or something and only the top header of the first page is sent. VERY confusing!

I'm going on a limb here. But trying sending a fax to different machine.

Reason why I mention that is I have a few fax machines that aren't compatable with each other and will not support a transmission between them. Our users have to send their fax to another depart which will then inturn forward the fax on to it's final destination.

Also double check that you have your ATA set to modem and not telephone.

Out on a limb.... AND right on the money!
Sent it to a regular fax machine, and it went just fine. I wonder why it screws up sending to the modem on the server? Interesting...
Anyway, stars for you!

It the protocol used. I did I understand you correctly ur trying to send your fax to a PC?

Yes, the fax dialing in to a modem on a PC. At first I thought protocol as well, but I think something else is up. Not only do the protocols match, if I take the fax machine off the DN and go directly to a POTS line then I can send to the PC no problem. wierd.....

Try tweaking the modem settings on the PC end and check the dip switched for AA and Dumb/ Smart Mode
