Can't send emails out.

Everyone in the agency is getting emails like this:

There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server. Please contact your system administrator.
<xxxxxxxx.ORG #5.5.0 smtp;550 Command rejected for policy reasons. For troubleshooting information, go to
Can anyone help? I noticed many emails in my system manager queue.
 
anything in the event log? Anyone make any changes recently?

Someone has done something to the SMTP connector I'd guess.
 
The SMTP Connector is called the IMS (Internet Mail Service) in 5.5
 
Not that I know of. The queue is all jammed up and I used microsofts utility to clean it up. But that hasn't solved our problem.
 
We had a similar problem with mail going to AOL accounts. It was related to something that some of the larger e-mail providers had implemented to help prevent spamming. They had started doing reverse lookups on the sender to confirm that the sending address was valid.

We were in the middle of changing our e-mail to go via a third party which resolved the issue, but I think it is related to the information on the following link:-

p.s. Having just looked at the MSN Postmaster link, it mentions Senderid at the bottom of the page, so it seems likely to be the problem.
