Can't select phone menu when calling outside line

Hi all

Please bear with me, I inherited a KX TES824 Console and connect them to 8 KX 7730s for my father's factory and I am trying to make them work.

So far so good, I can do intercom calls, I can do outgoing calls, I even got the KX TE Maintenance Console working on my laptop.

However, there is one thing that I have problems with despite extensive googling. Whenever I call a local hotline, say my local bank hotline and they ask me to Press 1 for Personal Banking, Press 2 for Internet Banking, etc., I press 1 and nothing happens. They just keep repeating Press 1 for ...,... as though no buttons were pressed.

Can anyone help me? I am just a kid that wants to help my dad save money by not spending a few hundred dollars by getting a techie down to help. Please and thank you!
 
That problem should be on the Exchange at the Bank end and not at your end.

You can try calling another service with a similar set up i.e Press 1 for Personal Banking, Press 2 for Internet Banking, etc.,

 
I don't think the problem is at the bank end as I have tried 4 other hotlines and the same problem persists.

I have called the panasonic technician and they say that programming is needed to be done but I do not want to pay them to come down as my dad's business is kind of tight on cash flow now.

If there is no way around this I guess I have to really save and get the technician down. Thank you all for helping though. I really appreciate it!
 
This setting "Whenever I call a local hotline, say my local bank hotline and they ask me to Press 1 for Personal Banking, Press 2 for Internet Banking" is at the bank end.

This setting - Press 1 for Personal Banking, Press 2 for Internet Banking setting is programmed on the PBX at the Bank.

Can you use another phone to call the bank other than your PBX?.

Unless the buttons/keys on your phone are not working.

I am supposing the local line is connected to the bank PBX and not your PBX

 
Make sure your outgoing lines are set to DTMF not pulse(CO/Detail)
If you can't make calls using DTMF switch back to pulse but unlikely your CO lines can't handle DTMF
