Can't select HP printer

Mac OSX.3, I can select one HP laser printer, but not the one I want. I get the message "Printer selection failed. Restoring the previous selection."

A Google search indicates this was a problem years ago, but as a fresh convert to ID, I need someone to bring me up to speed. Thanks.

Use OSX Disk Utility to Repair Permissions to the startup disk.
