i have IE 6.0 and windows XP (unfortunately at times) but in IE somehow the bottom toolbar/taskbar dissapeared and i cant see it. its the one that tells you how much of the page is loaded, and the links ect. i went to tools>int options> restore defaults and that did nothing. theres nothing under the properties that has an option to view/hide it that i know of. how do i bring it back?

Are you talking about the status bar under VIEW - STATUS BAR? joegz

From the microsoft.public newsgroups:

* With (only one) IE open, click View and select: Status Bar.
* Hold down the Ctrl key and click the close button (upper right).
* Open Windows Explorer, click View and select: Status Bar
* Click Tools | Folder Options | View tab
* Click the "Apply to all folders" button.

yeah, joegz. that worked. thanks, but i feel pretty stupid now :)
