Hi,

I am loading Access Manager with Batch Maintenance. However, I can't see all the users that are loaded via Access Manager - Administration. For example, I load users asmith and abrown via batch maintenance. When I open Access Manager - Administration, I only see abrown in the Users folder. If I click Edit - Find and search for 'asmith,' the search finds the asmith object. Likewise, if I try to manually Add User 'asmith', I get a message that the object already exists. And I can successfully log in as 'asmith'.

Any experience or thoughts on this?

Thanks,
Stacy

Stacy,
My thought is unfortunately that you have a corrupt namespace - can you restore from a back-up copy?
sorry,

Hi Stacy -

We also had a corrupt namespace. I found that if you made a change to the user and hit the apply button - then the user would show up. Also - if you send your LAE file to Cognos Support - they can run it through a checker to verify if it is really corrupt.

What are you using or how are you formatting your text file into the batch maintenance input file?

The reason for this error is that the number of items returned in a search is set to 1000 by
default in Active Directory. This differs from Netscape Directory Server where the default is
2000. To resolve this issue:

- Click on Start and click on Run.
- In the Open text box, type "ntdsutil"
- On the command line, type "ldap policies"
- Then, type "connections"
- Then, type "connect to server <dns of your server, i.e. machinename.yourcompany.com>"
Example: connect to server servername.domain.com
- Then, type "q", you should return to the "ldap policy" command prompt
- Then, type "set maxpagesize to <x>", where x is the greatest number between the maximum
number of children user classes that a particular user class can have, the maximum number of
users belonging to a particular user class, or the maximum number of users in a folder

Then, type "commit changes"
- To see that the value has been changed, type "show values" - notice that the maxpagesize
property is set to <x>
- Then, type "q" to quit.
