Hello I have Win98 PC's and a mix of Novell Servers. When I install Netware Client I can't see any of my 3.2 servers in Network Neighborhood. I can't login or map to them either through a DOS prompt. I have loaded IP and IPX, but all I see is the new NW6 server. Can I add 3.2 servers to my tree? Help appreciated Thanks

You say you have Client 4.8 and Windows 98, but that combination doesn't make sense. Client v. 4.8 is for Windows NT/XP.

Could you please clarify the OS and Client versions?

Although I don't have a w95/98 machine to test, from the distribution config file, it appears that the client only installs IP and removes IPX when it is installed. see text extracted from file:

[ProtocolOptions]
DefaultProtocol=IPNOCM

; Default Protocol used by the client
;DefaultProtocol = IP,IPX will cause the client to use IP and IPX
;DefaultProtocol = IPNOCM will cause the client to use IP
;DefaultProtocol = IP will cause the client to use IP with IPX compatibility
;DefaultProtocol = IPX will cause the client to use IPX

When you installed the client, did you do a custom install and make sure that IPX & IP were selected? (Not IP with IPX compatibility, that won't work)

Whether you are able to add the 3.2 server to your tree or not has nothing to do with your problem. but the answer is no.

Thanks I used IP and IPX with the Bindery selection (after trying everything else). Appreciate the help.
