I have never used Shared Borders or anything too in-depth in FrontPage (other than the basic layout of a page).

I have a site that I need to update, but whoever created it seems to be using Shared Borders, because when I open a page in FrontPage 2002, I cannot see the top, left, or bottom navigation.

When I look in /_borders, I see the left.htm (for example), but what it has in it is this:

<!--webbot bot="Navigation" s-type="top" s-orientation="vertical"
s-rendering="graphics" b-include-home="TRUE" b-include-up="FALSE" U-Page S-Target startspan --><!--webbot bot="Navigation" i-checksum="0" endspan -->

How can I update my navigation??

THANKS!

Look in the HTML of the page itself, not in LEFT.HTM. The navigation might be a SSI (Server-Side Include) file, indicated by a statement that begins with <-- #INCLUDE VIRTUAL ". If so, you can't see the SSI portion on the client side, you can only see it when it's served from the server. To update the navigation, update the file referenced in the "<-- #INCLUDE VIRTUAL " statement. This will update ALL pages that reference that navigation file, so you don't have to update lots of pages, only one.

If there's no <-- #INCLUDE VIRTUAL ", then that's not the answer.

Good luck

No, it's not an "include". When I view the html, after I ftp'd it over to my machine, I can see the navigation code in it. However, when I view through FrontPage, I don't see the navigation anymore.

Thanks!
