Hi All,

I'm using legato networker 7.4 sp3 and if i click on the client in the console and i'm going to info & licensing tab i can't see the client details as "client os type" "networker version".

what should i do to fix this?

Thanks, Lior.

Open the "View" menu and check the "Diagnostic Mode" to see all resource attributes.

Hi,

I did the diagnostic mode but still i can't receive the information from the client.

what else i can do?

Thanks, Lior.

Hello,

is your client software installed on the machine ? running ?

can you perform saves ?

yes, the client is up & running and i can perform saves.

Can you try the following command (assuming you're under unix) ?

echo print type: NSRLA | nsradmin -s client_name -v1 -p 390113 -i - 2>&1

I'm not under unix, i'm using windows 2003 server.

Then start as follows:
nsradmin -s client_name -p nsrexec

and continue with:
option hidden
print type: NSRLA

i received the information in the command, what should i do with this?

Do you receive data about OS type or what you wanted ?
If so, NW can communicate with the client, your problem may be NMC side.

yes, i recieved the data of the OS and the client version.

How can i fix the problem in the NMC side?

Thanks, Lior.

Can you see data of other clients or just this one ? Has it ever worked ?
Unfortunately, I don't see how you can fix it : reinstalling NMC, downgrading if the problem is new ... :)

BTW - if you open the Control Panel and go to Add/Remove Programs, you should see the NW version under the support information.

i've tried to reinstall the console but this problem still occur.
my NMC is 7.4 build 569

Can you see data of other clients or just this one ? Has it ever worked ?

No i can't see it in other clients, i don't know if its ever worked.
can you please tell me what can cause to this problem?

Thanks, Lior.

Sorry, I've made my best.
Maybe opening a case at EMC ?

You will see this behaviour if the client in question is a Windows Cluster virtual resource - it uses the client resource of the underlying physical server. We have lots of these - e.g. db204a (physical server A), db204b (physical server B) and db204v (Virtual IP resource with shared disks). The db204v resource backs up correctly but has no OS type / networker version - nor does it consume a client enabler.

Hi there,

this is a 7.4.3 bug. We just installed nsr 7.5 on windows 2003. NOW NetWorker version is displayed correctly.

NOTES save sessions had display problems, too. They are gone with 7.5 aswell.

Update to 7.5 worked without any problems, by the way :) .

Regards,
Heiko
