Hi,

I have been to MS on this one but they still cant fix it.

I have a issue where I am trying schedule a task on a WIN2K server and get the following error when I finish the wizsrd

"The new task has been created but may not run because the account information could not be set

The specific error is
0x8009000f: Object already exists."

I have tried the "fixes" in technote Q246183, but no luck with this, and deleteing the reg key

hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\cryptography\defaults\provider types\type 001

causes a load of errors, even with the Protected Storage service stopped...

Note: The reg key in the technote does not exist, MS say
they are going to correct the notes on their tech
articles!! :)

Has anyone had this issue before, and fixed it, as my customer wants this fixed ASAP now.

TIA

Paul If aint broken, dont try n fix it!!!!!

I had this to--MS site is wrong LOL--here is the correct thing to do from THEELDERGEEK.COM--found it in a google search on the problem:

Task Scheduler Object Already Exists
Problem: When trying to run a scheduled task it returns an error that states: Error (0000XXXXXXX) Object Already Exists.

Possible Solution: In some cases, this error has been associated with cryptography files present in:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\S-1-5-18
Copy the files in the S-1-5-18 folder to a different folder, i.e. CryptoTemp.

[If no files are visible, use [Tools] [Folder Options] [View] and check [Show Hidden Files and Folders] and click OK]

In the original S-1-5-18 folder, delete the original files that were copied.

Create the task again in Task Manager, reboot, and run the newly created task.

If the process fails, you have the copies made earlier to replace the deleted files.
