I have a problem with one of my exchange accounts using OWA. I can't reply (or forward) to any of her messages using OWA. From my home ISP I get a 'Page can't be Displayed" message. From on campus I get the error "HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error". I can reply to her message from home and work using the Outlook client. I can send her a mail message via OWA however, it only fails when replying or forwarding.

This is only happening w/ one user all others are fine.

Anyone have any ideas?

TIA

As I understand, you can use OWA to forward or reply to all e-mail sent to you by anyone except "user A". Some troubleshooting questions:
1. Can you even open user A's e-mail with OWA?
2. Do OWA errors occur only when you click on the OWA "reply" or "forward" icons?
3. What e-mail client is user A using to send the problem e-mails to you?
4. Are these e-mails that user A has forwarded to you, or does this issue also occur with e-mail originating from user A?
5. Do user A's problem e-mails have attachments?
6. If user A sends you an e-mail from another workstation (or from a home location using OWA), can you reply to it?
7. Can others reply to user A's e-mails using OWA?
8. Were you able to reply to and forward user A's e-mails in the past?

Sounds like you might have urlscan installed but not confgured with the OWA template.

Urlscan is commonly installed when you run the IIS lockdown tool. It can also be installed standalone. You have to replace the urlscan ini file with the special OWA template, otherwise some but not all of OWA will work - some pages will time out as urlscan blocks them. The major reason for this is that OWA URLs often have some funky strings in them, which make urlscan think they are attempted exploits against your server.

Note also that urlscan doesn't actually have to be installed on the local server - if you're running an ISA server on your network somewhere, it also has to be configured with the OWA template as urlscan is installed as a component of ISA.

Thanks for the help. It ended up being the client. It was a MAC that had Outlook 8.2.2 installed. Updated to 2001 and all is fine.
