Hi All,

I've been trying to get rid of a virus in my laptop since last week. I've used Norton, Spyware Doctor, Ad-Aware SE Personal, Spy-bot Search and Destroy. Ran them in normal mode and safe mode and I still can't fix the problem (pop ups sending me to different pages randomly appear).

I ran a scan with Hijackthis and am posting the results here in case someone can help me out. Thanks in advance

Code:
Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1

The above should be fixed, unless you know the IP adress and deem it as safe...

Mostlikely your WINSOCKS got messed with, and or your HOST file...

check the HOST FILE with SpyBot S&D (under TOOLS)...

about the WINSOCKS, since you are running XP with SP2, enter in the RUN BOX the following command and reboot:

netsh winsock reset catalog

this will restore the WINSOCKS to the correct settings...

Hi

Thank you for your quick replies. After a little more investigation I found this 2 viruses:

C:\windows\system32\jkhhf.dll
WINotify

I was able to clean them manually and to remove them from my registry and sytem.ini

Thanks again and have a great day :)

Thanks for your response, I was able to remove vundo successfully (I found the steps surfing the net). I'll remove the logitec desktop messenger as you suggest, I don't really need it.

Thanks again :)
