Hello all,

About 30 days ago I migrated users in a remote office from their existing domain to use the same domain as our office. Everything works great with the merge. The problem is that when people browse to 'My Network Places' the old domain still shows up. There are no workstations or servers on it and the DC for that domain has since been rebuilt and is now a DC in the new domain. How can I remove the old domain name from showing up in 'My Network Places'?

Thanks in advance for your help! I do appreciate it =)

I also have this problem...a bit different though...we had a workgroup and when those machines were upgraded and added to the domain, the workgroup still shows up in my network places on just about every machine on the domain, as well as the DC

have any pointers on how to do the same for workgroups? I checked out the utility, which is a nice addition to any bowl of knowledge, it does not have the options for removing workgroup listings

An old computer in a workgroup should clear out after about an hour after removing it. Basicly after it misses 3 browser polls it should be removed from the master browser. There are of course some exeptions, but if you just wait it out they should disappear.

A DC in a W2K Domain is held in AD, wich is staticly set. Meaning the only way to remove the DC is to either run dcpromo on the DC or use something like ADSI Edit to manually remove the DC objects from AD.

it has been about four months since the last workgroup pc was upgraded to the domain.
