I have a couple 2003 servers setup with dfs replication between them. I've stopped the replication last week and now I want to remove one of the referral targets from the dfs because I'm upgrading to a new server. Right now when I try to remove the dfs target it warns me about if it was the last target which it isn't so no biggie there, but when I click yes to remove it, I get an Access is denied error.
I've used my domain admin account and the administrator account on the server and it still won't let me remove it. I have no idea why. Anyone have any ideas?
All the dfs stuff is on 2003 servers, none of them are 2003 R2 right now. I did introduce my first r2 server last week but it's not doing anything with dfs so i don't believe it would be any problems.
