I'm having problem...

I installed exchange 5.5 with SP4, my users using the server internally can receive & send mail anywhere on Internet, but those using Internet to get the e-mails can only send to recipients on the server but not outside of the domain. When i try to send mail from home using our office Exchange server, i get the message that the server cannot relay for the outside address.

Please help me !

Are your clients using POP3 from the outside?
Check your routing restrictions in the properties of IMS on the server. Be careful though, about making Open Relay wide open. I had that set for a while, and now I am paying the price...

To embroider on Kristine's help: you can allow relaying for clients on the outside that successfully authenticate and for clients whose IP networks you can know ahead of time. If, for example, you have an executive that has a cable modem or a small branch office that was given a static IP, you could put those IP's in the routing restrictions "Hosts and clients with these IP addresses" box and they should be able to relay.

Don't check the "hosts and clients connecting to these internal addresses box".

OK ! I had already the authentication enabled but if i understand for users to relay mail from remote offices on our corporate SMTP server, i need to know the IP range(s) of their ISP ?
