I had a problem with my NT 4.0 workstation. I have since fixed the problem. I am trying to reinstall Intellisync but it will not start because I cannot register ole32.dll. Pumatech says I must register it first. I need Intellisync to sync between PALM OS and Notes 4.6

I have 'repair'ed the OS from the original disk. Reinstalled SP6a. Reinstalled SP2 for OFFICE 2000. Still no luck.

The error I get when I try to register is:

"ole32 was loaded but the DllRegisterService entry point was not found.
DllRegisterServer may not be exported, or a corrupt version of ole32.dll may be in memory. Consider using PView to detect and remove it"

Looking this up says I might have incorrect versions of ole32.dll and comcat.dll. I don't. (see next)

OS Windows NT 4.0.4.0
C:\WINNT40\System32\ comcat.dll 4.71.1441.1
C:\WINNT40\System32\ ole32.dll 4.0.1381.326

Any ideas?

Copy the two DLLS from another Pc and replace them as it may be that they are corrupted.

I have just copied the two files from another PC.

Rebooted.

No change.
