Well, I'm new at the whole Premiere thing, and I'm very confused...
I created a movie for a project in one of my classes, and was able to successfully capture everything off a Mini DV camera, and a VHS tape, successfully edited the whole thing, but now that i'm done making the movie, I can't get it transferred onto a tape!! It doesn't play through on the TV, so I know it can't record anything--I'm positive that it's hooked up right, so I know it's just one of the many settings that is wrong. I feel like i've tried everything, and I'm desperate for help, because my project is due in a few days!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!
Some Specs...I have an amd 1.4 processor, plenty of HD, an ATI graphics card, a Pinnicle DV500 Plus capture card.

Thanks to anyone who is willing to help!!!!

I had the same problem. I found out that I had the wrong setting on my VCR. I had to change it to the correct Line 1 out on my VCR and then it recorded OK. Hope this helps you.

Have you reset the dv500 for composite output. Just click on the corner of the instant rt status bar and select settings.
Hope this is not to simplistic a solution, good luck.

If you don't have much time there's a fast way: Export the whole project in an AVI file (e.g. divx). Then play this file on a computer with a graphiccard with a TV-Out function and record it with your videorecorder!
I know, that's not the professionellest way!

After sifting through 56 pages of forums i get to this thread!! YIPPEE!! Poorstudent had the exact same problem as i do! I was just wondering how the avi file way worked out? coz thats what ive got to do.

i was gonna record it to vcd and play it on my dvd player and record it, would do it with the avi but my graphics card isnt too good and it jumps a bit

surfchik's note is a good one. Many VCR decks have a SOURCE control. Most of the time, when you're doing a print-to-video, you have to set that SOURCE control to "Line" or "Line 1" or "External" or anything other than a numbered channel.

That one still gets me... [lol]

Hook a monitor to your SIGNAL-OUT jack on your video-out card. If you're seeing an image on the monitor when you do a print-to-tape, you know the signal's getting to the deck. If you still can't record it, you've narrowed the problem down to a setting on the deck.

Right on Edward. The VCR has to be on the right channel to record. In this case the channel needs to be AUX or LINE.
