I can receive mail internally, but i try to send mail to my exchange server user by using and Aftertat i try to login as exchange user to receive tat email, but i can't received. May I know why?

When i try to send mail to hotmail.com and yahoo.com by using exchange server 2003, also can't. WHY?

Is it the problem with the setting up of Internet Mail Wizard?

I could't setup Internet mail Wizard. During the processing, got an error pop up. The error message is "An error occured during a call to Windows Management Instrumentation" ID no is "8004100e"

Can anybody help me? Please and Thanks a lot

Sounds like a DNS issue, is your DNS running correct ? Do you require DNS Forwards ?

I did setup DNS Forward Lookup Zone - my server.

but how come still like tat. I try to use Internet Mail Wizard to setup, but got error during setup. The report is "Cannot be part of a Network Load Balanceing cluster"

I dun understand wat it mean.

How many Exchange servers do you have? What firewall setup do you have?

Have you read this?

Is your Default SMTP Virtual server setup correctly?

Have you tried enabling full SMTP logging on the server properties diagnostics tab?

Login to the exchange box - in a cmd window can you connect via smtp to a hotmail mailserver?
nslookup
set type=mx
hotmail.com

Grab one of these mx hosts...

telnet mx1.hotmail.com 25

If you can connect, that's ok.

Ya, i did setup SMTP virtual server properly.

Actually, I work as Technical support officer station at a school. So i use a laptop to install Windows 2000 Server SP4. and Install Exchange Server 2003. This installation is only for my own study.

So this server (my laptop) is in a LAN. i m using Dynamic IP address assigned by my school Actual Windows 2000 Server.

So, after i setup Exchange server 2003 at my laptop. and every configuration is ok. I can send and receive mail within organization. I can use OWA also. But the only thing is i can't send/receive mail from/to other mail server, such as hotmail.com, yahoo.com

when i try to setup Internet Mail Wizard, i see this error.
The report is "Cannot be part of a Network Load Balanceing cluster"

The error message is "An error occured during a call to Windows Management Instrumentation" ID no is "8004100e"

I try to search for wat the error ID means. but i cant get it.

I thought is DNS problem, so i mannually ser a DNS for my laptop server. Forward lookup zone is working. But still can't send/receive mail from/to other mail server.

The suggestion u given below: I dun understand. can u descrie in detail?

Login to the exchange box - in a cmd window can you connect via smtp to a hotmail mailserver?
nslookup
set type=mx
hotmail.com

Grab one of these mx hosts...

telnet mx1.hotmail.com 25

is tat any suggesstion?

Thanks

Use nslookup tool to query/check DNS via cmd line.

Obviously you need external DNS configured to access the external hosts... hotmail.com, etc.

Also, I'd try a static IP... ensure you are the only computer with that IP.

I tried ur method, failed. I am using the only static IP.

based on the following document.

It stated tat cannot be "network load balacing". this is also the error messsage i get during setup Internet Mail Wizard.

Do u know how to disable the network load balancing? wat is network load balancing?
