can't read any cd

got a recently pc with a dvd writer and a dvd rom.
it seems my pc can't read any cd anymore
(autorun doesn't works) there's nothing wrong with the cd.

it used to work properly, what's the problem ?

Could there be something wrong with the drive? Do you have a CD drive or only the DVD? Is the DVD drive DVD/CD or just a DVD?

it's a DVD/CD drive
and it did work properly some days ago

Have you tried System Restore to a point where it did work?

Is the drive recognized in the Bios, in My Computer, or in the Device Manager?

Maybe you could try uninstalling it from Device Manager, rebooting and let XP rediscover it.

AutoPlay fix may help?
