I have one machine which can't print from Internet explorer 5.5 SP1.
I have tried reparing IE5.5, removing and reinstalling, and applying SP2, all to no avail.
I able to print from all other applications.
I have checked out Microsoft and previous threads here.

Any ideas would be welcome.

Did you check to see what the IE default printer is for the page? Go to File, Page Setup and down at the right corner click on Printer and see what printer you are printing the page to. "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing....." [morning]

Yes, I think I've tried all the easy stuff, but it is worth mentioning anything you can think of.

I am having same problem with a number of machines and desperate for resolution. I have checked the resolutions posted in the previous messages, but they didnt work. Can anyone help??? Please?

Could you please provide some specifics regarding the condition. OS, IE version, any error messages and a description of what is happening.

I'm still looking for a solution.
running nt4.0 sp6 IE5.5.
When attempting to print using the print button nothing happens.
When using File Print from the menu nothting happens not even the print dialog box.

Have you re-installed your printer driver?

ronrichardson,

If you are having consistent problems printing in all applications, I'd try nobrain's suggestion of reinstalling the printer drivers.

If your problem is just with IE (and Outlook Express, if used), then try this.

Check your TEMP environment variable and verify that it points to a legitimate folder on the system. Do Start > Run > winmsd. Select the Environment tab and look at the User environment variables. Verify that the folder actually exists. If it does not, create it and try printing in IE again.

Hope that helps.

Printing Problems IE 5.x

----------------------------------------

Cannot Print from Internet Explorer or Outlook Express (Q224202)

The information in this article applies to:

Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 4.0 , 4.01 , 4.01 Service Pack 1 , 4.01 Service Pack 2 , 5 , for Windows NT 4.0
Microsoft Outlook Express versions 4.0 , 4.01 , 4.01 Service Pack 1 , 4.01 Service Pack 2 , 5 , for Windows NT 4.0

I have checked that Temp variable points to C:\Temp. I have even deleted and recreated it with no success. the drivers have been reinstalled although there appeared to be no need as IE5.5 is the only failing application. IE5.5 has been reinstalled.

Try this . I use this Free browser , which has a built in pop up stopper . ( don't add , About Blank , to
the existing filter list )
Uses very little resources ( No Add's ) & is as good as any other browser .
Intergrates quitely into your system , does not take over . You can still run your normal browser , if you wish .
Uses the IE engine , but is very fast & stable .
