Everytime I click on a link to hear a sound clip or watch a movie clip that uses Real Player or Windows Media Player, nothing really happens. Instead, the file download box appears and doesn't seem to be doing anything or going away. Usually before, that box quickly appears/disappears and then Real Player or Windows Media Player starts buffering, and I'm able to play the clip.

Recently, to fix another problem I had before, I ran 'regedit' and deleted the extensions key under plugins under the internet explorer key. Do you think this is what is causing the problem? Thanks...

trigonz,

Yes.

You'll need to reinstall Internet Explorer, and Real Player, (Media player should dowload with IE).

NO. I've seen that download fix done countless times and it's never caused your problem.

In fact, i've deleted that extension key myself and it was recreated.

actually you have created cross-links.

scandisk, defrag, reboot and u should be good to go.
