Hi - I've successfully created a VPN connection b/t my BEFSX41 (home office) and Sentinel 1.3. This works great when connecting from another computer either using dial-up of cable modem. However, when I attempt to connect from my work office Sentinel makes the connection, I see the connection in the BEFSX41 VPN log, but I can't ping any of my PCs, 'request timed out'. We are using completely different IPs (home office - 192.168.0.0 ; work - 10.251.2.0)
Any suggestions?

If you are using a VPN. which obviously your are. you will reside on the same network.... i.e. Your IP addy's are in completly different subnets.

My point:
Office A and Office B.

Office a network = 192.168.100.0
Office b network = 192.168.200.0

Client in office B wants to connect to office A network.
Client in Office B establishes VPN session with VPN host on Office A. Office A's VPN host will give Client in Office B a new IP address, in the 192.168.100.0 netowork.

This will allow the Client in B to 'exist' on A's network.

Right now if your VPN host is not supplying an IP to that of your client.. you are tying to ping a device in a diffent network without a route to that network.

thanks,

The message of Trickydic applies to PPTP, not IPSec, ignore.

The firewall of your company does not allow/support IPSec passthru. Talk to your IT-people how to solve this.

Some companies policy does not allow private VPN-connections from their corporate network.
