Hello

Our users must connect to a VPN using netscreen25. The users are sucessfully connected. However, the cannot ping certain hosts.

For example, today i was only able to ping 192.168.10.2

All the other hosts, i could not ping. Yesterday, i could only ping 192.168.10.4. Sometimes i can ping nothing at all.

Can you give me some advice an how to solve this problem?

Hello,

First, I would make sure ping is enabled on the Trust interface and use that during testing. What version of the NetscreenOS and Netscreen Remote are you using? Do your Servers point to the Netscreen as the default Gateway? Let me know.

Rgds,

John

Hi John

Here are the answers:

- i don't know if ping is enabled on the trust interface. How can i check if it's enabled?

- The Version of the netscreen OS is 5.3.0r4.0 The Version of the Netscreen Remote is 9.0.1 (Build 12)

- No, our servers do not point to the nescreen as the default gateway. We have a new and an old internet access connection. The new one uses the netscreen 25. The default gateway of our Servers point to another device (Zywall Firewall) at the old internet access connection. Could this be the problem? We are planning to shut down the old internet access connection soon.

Now we have decided to change to default gateway on the servers immediately.

After this, the problem was solved! All servers are now accessible without problems

Thank you very much.

Your welcome. I'm glad you got it working.

Cheers.
