Router was working last night on my Cisco 2801 and this morning it was not. Brought the 2801 home to configure it for the office. Configuration hasn't changed since last night, so I have no clue. I re-enabled my wireless card and connected to my wireless linksys and I can get onto the internet, but when I disable the wireless and enable the LAN still cannot get on the internet or ping the default gateway. When it is finally placed in the office, it will connect to the ISP's Cisco 1700 (csu/dsu), so if you see any other configurations that should be there please let me know. I've been trying to educate myself in networking, but I've barely scratched the surface. Any help would be appreciated. Here is the running config for the 2801.

No one? If I take the 2801 out of the loop and connect my laptop to the Comcast modem I can get onto the internet with the exact same info as configured on the 2801's fa 0/1 int.

so you are trying to ping google.com lets say from your router and its not working ?
what happens when you do a show ip route?
what happens when you do a show ip nat translations ?
what happens when you try to ping 8.8.8.8?

or from your workstation that is connected to fa0/0?
is your workstation getting an IP?
what happens when you try to ping the 192.168.1.1 is that the gateway you are talking about ?
or are you talking about 65.50.24.129 as the gateway you are trying to ping ?

We must go always forward, not backward
always up, not down and always twirling twirling towards infinity.

Well, the default gateway .129 is my modem and is directly connected to .148 (my fa0/1) cannot ping past the fa 0/1. ACL is config'd the exact same as last night and it worked. 8.8.8.8 is just google I think that I put as DNS info on the 2801. The problem has to be with the 2801 cause if I take it out of the loop I can ping out, but what is driving me crazy is that nothing has changed since last night and it worked fine.

when you plug the router in does the f0/1 interface come up (sh ip int brief)??

...... cable type maybe?
are you using the same cable for PC to router, and router to router? I think you might need a cross-over for same type devices....

As I have said above...nothing has changed since last night. All interfaces are up/up, so it's not a cable. The default gateway is set, but it says no gateway of last resort .148 is directly connected to .129, but it doesn't say that in "show ip route" If I take the 2801 out of play and directly connect my laptop to the modem (with the same info) it can ping the DG .129, if I connect another router in front of the 2801, I can ping thru to .148 but not videversa. Again, nothing has changed from last night and it worked fine!
Thx, Volz

Remove "ip default-gateway 65.50.24.***" it's not needed.

You mention ACLs but I don't see any in this configuration. Also you say that your modem's IP is .129 and your routers ethernet port is .148 but you talk about moving the router around or such. I'm wondering if it has an old arp cache and if clearing it would allow you to communicate again.

The NAT ACL was wrong, it's working now.

It looks correct to me. What did you change it to?
