Can't ping but can see server 1

Hi,

Usual login would connect to all network connections, but now i've lost connection to all severs apart from the main server which assigns IP addresses to the nodes on network.
The server runs NT4 and the PC is running 2000. The strange thing is being able to access the shared drive but not being able to ping it or anything else...

Firewall?
"Hidden" firewall in your antivirus program? PC-Illan will do this, as will others.

Try, as a first cut at the problem, repairing the workstation's Winsock service: faq779-4625
