can't open *.wpd files in Word XP

Even though it appears all the filters and converters have been installed, Word XP won't open a *.WPD file.

Instead it takes me to a microsoft site that identifies it as a Wordperfect file.

Have gone in to Add/Remove Programs, Office....,Cahnge, Add/Remove Feature,Converters and Filters, Text Converters and made sure that Wordperfect converter is set to install on first use?

That's a good question. All, I know is that if it has got a Red X through it, then it's not installed. If you are not sure just click on it and choose installed on first use or Run from my computer
