Can't Open Program 1

I work as a technical support person for a company that supplies a piece of software to agents but one of them is having a problem when they try to open the program up. It is coming up with:
"msvcirt.dll file is linked to a missing export msvcrt.dll?? _u@yapaxi@z"

I've searched for this file on his computer and found quite a few of them, one the c:\windows\system folder. I tried to register the file but it didnt work, it came up with a message saying that it cant be exported.

I wanted to try to get a service pack downloaded but the system that they use they only have limited access on, so cant do anything like this. Does anyone know a workaround i can try to see if i can get the program up and running ?

Thanks for the reply. I tried going through this with him and it said that it couldnt find the file in the c:\windows\options\cabs folder. Looks like this would have worked but because he hasnt got a windows 98 cd i couldnt try it. I've sent the guy off with the link and told him to go to the people who supplied him the pc

Yep...if he can come up with a disk...all should pan out. Good luck.
