Can't open PPT file

I have an old powerpoint file that will not open. I get the error "powerpoint can not open this the type of file represented by .... and the file path. I thought it was because I'm running XP, so I tried to open it on a win98 machine, to no avail. Help? This is driving me crazy.

What version of MS Office are you running?

I'm running office XP professional. Tried to open it in Office 98 - no good.

File name C:\Documents and Settings\mberrett\Desktop\ppt home health.ppt

Path/file looks fine (just had to see it...). You can get the message you're getting when the file's been corrupted.

That's what I think. Always have to give that one last ditch effort.
