can't open page in new window 1

use IE v.6.0

recently something happened and i can't open a link (page) in a new window

if a web site contains a link like < ... target=new> then a new window opens empty with no content in it

I never did any such restrictions by my own
Pop-up blocker is Off

any ideas?

by the way this problem started at a time when i wanted to upgrade my IE v.6.0 with SP 1

someone posted here in the forum a link to SP page
i just started install and noticed that it was IE re-installation and immidietely canceled the istallation

is there a pure SP 1 link for IE 6 ?

Don't try th command line below by hand. Copy and paste it exactly as you see it below:

when downloading by defailt it stores not in
C:\Windows Update Setup Files

but in
C:\WinNT\Windows Update Setup Files
