What would cause me to be unable to see the IPO on the lan from the admin pc unless I specify the ip address. Can ping ok, But Manager software will not see. No windows fiirewall or antivirus running. XP sp2 box. Unit is a 403dt 2.1.51, using correct manager

1) Typically being on a different subnet/domain address range. Compare the IP address/subnet mask of the PC against that of the IP Office's LAN1.

2) Connecting via another router or a device that isn't forwarding broadcasts.

I have seen this before.

The one time I looked into it I found that the ARP table did not have the correct MAC address (it showed up as all zeros and the type was invalid.) You can see the ARP table by typing ARP -a at a command prompt.

This problem seems to be tied to the NIC card of the PC. I was able to connect using the broadcast address with my laptop on the same IP Office. I never tried to trouble shoot beyond that by upgrading the NIC driver or swapping the card.

Not sure if it is the same problem, but hope this helps.

Using two NICs connected to your PC can be the problem, the broadcastsend to one LAN and the IPO connected to the other one.

Check to see if the working directory is set correctly. It may be pointed to the last place you saved a back-up of the configuration.
