Hi everybody,

I have a problem during the boot sequence. The OBD says me
that he can't open BOOT device. In consequence, I start from CDROM. I had remarked with format command that my disk is on c0t1d0; so I try to mount this device on /a by this control :

- mount /dev/dsk/c0t1d0s0 /a

I obtain this error message "/dev/dsk/c0t1d0s0 is not this fstype". I continue my debug mission with execute this same command with the option -F to specify autofs, ufs, ext2 but always the same results.

Moreover the option partition from format menu doesn't work fine "unexpected".
The command fstype /dev/dsk/c0t1d0s0 doesn't work properly too.

I think, I know what is the spring problem. I had modify the vfstab entries file. The question is :

- How can I refind the filesystem list of disk without mounting it ?

- Is/are there any other(s) alternative solution(s) ?

Thanks at all. Benjamin

if your system is a SPARC/Solaris there is only a ufs Driver (ok, there is a hsfs) on CDROM to mount the "/" filesystem, by default Solaris does not know ext2 etc.

What kind of system you are using? CPU type?

Do you have any additional software installed (e.g. Veritas filesystems (vxfs))?

The mount command default is using ufs for disk(hsfs for cdrom), unless you choose "-F" option.

The ext2 is belong to Linux system, not supported on Sol9. If you try to mount a linux filesystem into sol9, it won't work.

Cheers,

Achech
